Project Kahn's Widebody Porsche Panamera Tune

For its next tune, British styling house Project Kahn has selected the Porsche Panamera, which receives a thorough makeover inside and out.
The first thing you'll notice about Project Kahn's Panamera is the wide bodykit that includes the front bumper pieces encompassing vertical LED strips, the beefed up front and rear fenders with matching side skirts and the rear bumper parts with an integrated rear air dam.
The exterior package also adds a roof spoiler, a rear wing, tinted windows, billet aluminum side vents, available tinted tail lamps, red brake calipers, new tail pipes and 22-inch Kahn RS600 wheels finished in whatever color the buyer chooses.
Performance upgrades are limited to a sportier exhaust system and a suspension module to drop the ride height.
As usual, Kahn says it can also upgrade the interior only this time, the British company actually shared some pictures of the Panamera's cabin that gets a bespoke leather treatment with a blend of claret quilted and perforated leather.
The tuner said that the blue colored Panamera (with the 4 AK license plate) pictured next to the black model is up for sale at £86,875 (US$135,300 / €104,500).

First Production Aston Martin V12 Zagato to Debut at Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance

We were expecting to see the final production version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show but instead the British company turned one of the racing concepts into a road-spec show car to give an indication of what it would look like. Now the time has come for Aston Martin to put the concepts aside and show the first finished customer car that will make its world premiere at the Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance from February 15 to 18.
“We are excited to show the new V12 Zagato for the first time in production form at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance," said Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez. "Over 50 years since the introduction of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, Aston Martin and Zagato have collaborated to create this modern interpretation which remains true to the original focus of craftsmanship, performance and exclusivity.”
The Zagato-penned model is based on the running gear of Aston Martin's V12 Vantage Coupe featuring a 6.0-litre V12 engine with 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS), and 570Nm (420 lb ft) of torque.
Only 150 cars will be built, each priced at £330,000 GBP (excluding local taxes), which at today's exchange rates comes to about US$513,300 or €396,600.
Aston Martin is already accepting orders with the first cars to be delivered later this year.

New BMW X3 Tops while Range Rover Evoque Flops Consumer Reports' Tests

Just like a Rotten Tomatoes review can make or break a movie’s reputation and its box-office success, Consumer Reports’ road tests have the potential to boost a vehicle's sales or in some cases force a an automaker to run back to the drawing board.
The latest batch of vehicles tested by CR include two SUVs that even though different in size, will compete in the premium segment: the second iteration of the BMW X3 and the brand-new challenger in the category, the Range Rover Evoque.
To sum it up, the BMW X3 xDrive28i scored an 80 in CR's road test and received the “Recommended” tag, while the Range Rover Evoque managed a test score of 60 score and was placed near the bottom of its class.
“The X3 does an impressive job of combining sporty handling, a lavish interior and surprising fuel economy”, said CR’s Auto Test Center senior director David Champion. He added that it has strong acceleration, a smooth-shifting gearbox and very good brakes.
The Bavarian model also received good marks thanks to its steering, interior quality and its ability to keeps its occupants serene by isolating them from road imperfections and noise. All in all, the BMW X3 outscored every other model in its segment, bar the Audi Q5 3.2.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged Range Rover was praised for its design, impressive acceleration, braking power and six-speed auto transmission. CR also liked the finish of the interior and the full-length glass roof.
However, according to Consumer Reports, that’s where the good stuff ends. In Champion’s own words, “although the stylish Evoque has won lots of accolades in the press, including North American Truck of the Year, our more thorough testing reveals quite a few flaws.”
For starters, the Evoque is criticized for its artificial steering, choppy ride, cramped and noisy cabin and lack of visibility. CR points out that track testing also revealed flaws in its handling.
"The Evoque tackles corners well but its steering feels artificially weighted, impairing feedback. When pushed to its handling limits at our track, the tail slid out and the vehicle repeatedly lifted a wheel during our avoidance maneuver."
In the same issue, Consumer Reports awarded the “Recommended” tag to the Toyota Prius Vand the VW Tiguan, but not the Wrangler Unlimited. Jeep’s 4x4 did well in acceleration and off-roading but was panned by CR’s testers in almost everything else, from handling and braking to more trivial issues like removing the roof.

Find a photographer and show up at shows/ cruise ins / drags. Most car people love to have their car photographed and their hard work put on display, but ALWAYS ask before you start taking photos. I know that where I live some people are very particular about their vehicles and wont let you lean on or touch their paint, so owners may have special requirements for how you can be photographed with their car.Good luck, you probably wont start being paid… but if you become popular, you might get some $$.

Is Infiniti getting Ready to Drag Race the M Hybrid Against the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid?

Is Infiniti getting Ready to Drag Race the M Hybrid Against the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid? - Just moments ago, Infiniti dropped an email into our inbox pointing us to a video on YouTube titled "What is the fastest accelerating full hybrid?" The short clip shows a driver dressed like The Stig entering a Porsche Panamera S Hybrid and getting ready to race the sports saloon in the desert.

Infiniti's email also notes, "Check out this teaser video and let us know where you think it’s going…. Don’t miss the results, coming January 23rd, 2012".
Since we find it hard to believe that the Japanese automaker would create a promotional campaign for Porsche and its new Panamera Hybrid we think it's all about showing the potential of the also new M Hybrid (called M35h in certain markets).
And more importantly, let's not forget that last September, the M Hybrid made it into the Guinness book of world records as the "Fastest Accelerating Full Hybrid" after it completed the quarter mile run in 13.9031 seconds with a passing speed of over 160 km/h (100 mph).
The question is, will Infiniti engage in all out bragging war showing the M Hybrid and Porsche Panamera Hybrid racing side-by-side or will it wimp out and be content with simply stating the numbers? Guess we'll have to wait until Monday to find out.
For the record, the U.S. specification Infiniti M Hybrid links a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with 302HP to a 50kW (67HP) electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack, which offers a combined output of 360 horsepower. Both the gasoline V6 and electric motor deliver their power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Infiniti says that the M Hybrid completes the 0-60mph sprint in "less than six seconds". In Europe, the Japanese company has released a 0-62mph (100km/h) time of 5.5 seconds. Fuel economy figures are estimated at 32 mpg highway, 27 mpg city and 29 mpg combined.
On the other side of the ring, we have the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid featuring a 333HP 3.0-liter supercharged V6 linked to a 47HP (34 kW) electric motor for a combined system output of 380HP.
According to Porsche, the Panamera S Hybrid goes from zero to 60mph (96km/h) in 5.7 seconds en route to a top speed of 167mph (269km/h), while delivering EPA estimates of 22 mpg city and 30mpg highway.

This is What 1,250-horses can do to Silicone Prostheses - We can hardly see this video making it on Discovery channel, but our science-minded readers will surely appreciate the following clip that shows what a twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Gallardo tuned by Underground Racing with some 1,250 wheel-horsepower can do to a pair of silicone implants when it's accelerating full force.
You can take notes of the effects while watching the video that follows after the break.

Bangkok Motor Show Girls Dancing

Bangkok Motor Show Girls Dancing - OK, here’s the last videos from the 2011 Bangkok Motor Show that I took earlier in the year. Remember these? I started showing the first batch of videos last year, then I completely forgot about them for a few month or so. Now I’m finally showing you all – the last videos I have. I can’t wait until I cover the 2012 Bangkok Motor Show in a few months!
Man, I wish I had the chance to cover the Detroit Auto Show this year. There has been some really cool cars that have been shown from a new concept Honda NSX to the Falcon F7, a new American super car and of course the new Lexus LF-LC concept. Sweet shits man!
Well, check out the videos from Bangkok!

Tokyo Auto Salon - So You Never Want to Leave Your Toyota Prius, do You?

If you are asking us whether someone has been creative with a ton of snow, the answer is no. If you are viewing this bizarre build from the side and wondering if this is some sort of humorous phallic statement, the answer once again is -you guessed it- no.
So what in the blazes is it, we hear you ask? Well, it's a Toyota Prius camper van conversion and it was unwrapped (or so to speak) at this weekend's 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC. And no, we are not pulling your leg – it does exist and it's available for order.
It's the wacky creation of Campinn, which specializes in these sort of builds. The transformation from going green to living in green involves the addition of a huge lump on top of the Prius, which is made entirely of Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) and increases the hybrid's length to 4,980mm (196-in.) and height to 2,050mm (81.1-in.).
Inside, there's what the company describes as a living area that can be optionally fitted with retractable coffee table and/or a side sofa while doubling as a bed, and if someone happens to visit, there's also as second bed on the…second floor. Did we mention that it also gets a back door?
What will they think of next…
