2007 audi TT Roadster,Review,Price And Ladies Sexy – The Audi TT takes its name from the successful motor racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race. NSU began competing in the TT in 1911, and later merged into the company now known as Audi.
The Audi TT also follows the NSU 1000TT, 1200TT and TTS cars of the 1960s in taking their names from the race.
The TT name has also been attributed to the phrase “Technology & Tradition”.
Sheer sportiness, a genuine driving experience, cue the new TT Roadster from Audi. The open-top sports car retains the distinctive lines of its tremendously successful predecessor, but instils them with even greater emotion, performance and dynamism.
New TT Roadster from Audi. Audi offers a choice of two engines for its new TT Roadster. The 2.0 TFSI engine, which blends turbocharging with petrol direct injection technology, delivers 147 kW (200 bhp) to the front wheels. In the case of the new TT Roadster, Audi has respectfully and attentively developed and nurtured this genetic code. The wheel arches enclose wheels 16 or 17 inches in diameter, depending on the engine version, complete with striking rim designs. The tornado line beneath the body’s shoulder and the strikingly ascending dynamic line above the sills create the impression of a more elongated body. The legendary aluminium tank cap above the rear right wheel now features a cross-bar bearing the TT logo. The front end of the new TT Roadster has acquired a charismatic expression.
Powered by the tidy turbo engine already seen in the A3 and A4, it develops a modest 160bhp – 37bhp less than the previous cheapest TT, the 2.0-litre petrol model, and less than half the power of the RS version – but it’s absolutely brilliant.
Low-end versions can tell you a lot about what’s going on with the mechanical, oily bits of a car, and the front-wheel-drive TT feels spot-on, light and pointy with just the tiniest hint of front-end wriggle under heavy acceleration to keep you on your toes. OK, it’s not mad-quick, but honestly, it’s fast enough: 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds is only a fraction off Golf GTI pace and anyhow, it gives you an excuse to thrash the TT absolutely everywhere. Which is good, because this TT seems to rather enjoy being thrashed absolutely everywhere.
The lights sloping to a point – with chrome-look trims that are standard on the V6 versions as well as in conjunction with xenon lights, and optional on the 2.0 TFSI – underscore the presence of the TT Roadster. Instead of the halogen lights, xenon plus headlights that can be combined with daytime running lights are available as an option.
At the rear end of the new TT Roadster, the large exhaust tailpipes, diffuser and centred rear fog light serve as reminders of the performance of the Audi brand in motor sport. The spoiler of the new Audi TT Roadster is unobtrusively integrated into the contour of the luggage compartment lid. Lift has been reduced by 50 percent at the front axle, and by 40 percent at the rear axle.
Like the coupe, the roadster is equipped with an electronic spoiler that extends at speeds of above 75 mph for added stability.
A number of structural elements are unique to the roadster. The new TT is bigger than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has grown by 1.8 inches to 97.1 to accommodate the 5.4 inch growth in length to 164.5.
Better still, it’s a full four grand cheaper than the 2.0-litre petrol… and half the price of the TT RS. A 1.8 Roadster for the summer and a 1.8 Coupe for the winter? Why the heck not?
